Salary Info.: Full-time, $14.42 per hour, 215 days per year, health, dental, and some vision benefits
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Pleasant telephone manner and calm demeanor under pressure
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to comfortably multi-task
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • A proactive self-starter and someone who catches on quickly to new duties
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, volunteers, students, and parents
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office
  • Interpersonal skills and great customer service
  • To work independently with minimal supervision
  • Fluent bilingual (Spanish/English) applicants a plus for our diverse population
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and office tools for clerical duties
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds
Minimum work experience and education: High School diploma or equivalent degree and at least one-year office experience.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Monitor and record student attendance daily.
• Contact parent/guardians by phone or letter to verify absences daily.
• Maintain logs and other documentation verifying absences.
• Ensure that attendance for tardy students is recorded.
• Prepare and distribute tardy detentions.
• Enter attendance into a computerized attendance system, edit, correct, verify accuracy, and compile reports of attendance.
• Prepare required reports and review for accuracy prior to submission.
• Interpret routine policies and procedures to students, parents, and staff.
• Monitor and search camera footage when required.
• Assist with general functions of the office including reception, answering the phone, and responding to parent concerns.
• Evaluate and attend to student health needs.
• Maintain health records and state mandated immunization records on students.
• Dispense medication and monitor health condition of students with medical conditions.
• Communicate with school nurse, staff, and parents regarding student health needs.
• Maintain health closet and order supplies as needed.
• Assist with registration activities including the gathering of health and immunization records
• Attend required trainings.
• Schedule and assist with vision and hearing screenings for students.
• Perform many other duties as assigned.
