Essential Duties
- Analysis and Testing- As part of his Process and Product Development activities, conducts routine qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses.
- Manage the product development workflow .
- Understands and applies science and engineering best practices and tools.
- Learns and practices the principals involved with the management of the Product Development Team.
- Proactively applies statistically-oriented product and process development tools such as DOE and statistical methods and encourages PDT members to do the same.
- Routinely conducts relevant technical literature and patent surveys
- Assists with the creation of formulas, procedures and catalogue numbers for commercial products following ISO 9001 procedures.
- Supports the organization's intellectual property strategy by documenting data and independent, unique and patentable ideas that results from experimentations and concept generation activities
- Provides technical assistance to the Sales team by investigating and assisting with or solving customer complaints, addressing customer technical inquires and educating Sales team on new products.
- Works in conjunction with the Marketing Department to develop sales and safety literature including Technical Data Sheets, Material Safety Data Sheets and Product Overviews as needed.
- Works with external toll manufacturers and raw material suppliers as needed.
- Presents technical reports and summaries in a wide range of internal and external forums

- BS or greater in Chemistry plus chemical laboratory experience in the product development area, or other closely related areas.
- Drives creative research and strategic recommendations for product development
- Able to translate consumer insights into actionable recommendations to achieve exceptional consumer satisfaction
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, in a fast-paced environment under short deadlines, tolerance for business ambiguity; the ability to thrive under quickly changing situations; adaptable.
- Methodological mindset to test new ideas and work towards valid results
- Self-motivated and able to operate independently, as well as work effectively with others
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- High level of initiative, innovation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally & at all levels within the organization including senior leadership
- Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy & organization
