Lab Technician

Production 5 - Evaporator Surface Treatment Lab (RSL), Dept. 323

Core Hours: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM

A RESUME IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Must meet minimum qualifications to be considered)

Associates degree in a related field or chemical, technical or surface treatment experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail. Able to work with little to no direct management. Able to multitask and work under pressure. Able to work overtime before and after shift when needed. Must be able to wear a chemical suit and perform all functions of the job.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor and maintain 12 chemical baths including, but not limited to, frequent chemical concentration testing, product quality testing, manual chemical adjustments, recording and plotting of chemical results, investigating abnormal conditions, process adjustments/improvements to ensure chemical cost stability. Run and maintain various testing equipment, including but not limited to, X-ray Machine, Total Organic Carbon (TOC), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometer (ICP) and Brix and pH Meter.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job you may be asked to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift or carry component parts weighing up to 35 pounds-lifting parts in excess of 35 pounds with a list assist, work on the production line for short periods of time, use hands to handle or feel parts, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear, use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, frequent phone use and typing. The work environment will vary from an open office setting to a production environment.

MINIMUM POSTING ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

* More than 2 years in current position unless promotable
* Last Performance Appraisal Meets or Better
* No Active Written Discipline
* 5 occurrences or less within the current rolling calendar year
* Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position
