Job Description

High Desert Medical Group is seeking a full-time candidate to fill the role as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in our busy clinic. This individual will provide direct patient care, this includes but is not limited to: rooming and discharging patients, vital signs, EKG's. medications/injections, blood draws, assist with procedures, provide patient education, follow clinical guidelines, etc. The candidate must also have the ability to perform home visits and evening/weekend clinics as needed. Must be able to multi-task, problem solve and use critical thinking skills.

Summary of Duties:

  • Assist patients to exam rooms and obtain complete and accurate vital signs.
  • Obtain and document all pertinent information in patient's charts.
  • Anticipate, assist, and perform procedures ordered by the provider.
  • Maintain timely patient flow and room availability.
  • Maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Reinforce patient education and participate in patient teaching.
  • Stock and maintain exam rooms, nursing stations, and individual workstations.
  • Maintain a current, accurate surgical log, procedure log, lab log, and patient tickler files, as appropriate.
  • Assist with training and orientation of new personnel.
  • Assume responsibility for narcotic medications as assigned.
  • Float to assist in other areas of the clinic as needed.
  • Maintain crash cart, emergency drugs, and equipment as assigned.
  • Perform other duties assigned.

The pay range for this position at the commencement of employment is expected to be between $40,560.00 and $54,059.20/year as a CMA, non-exempt, and $54,080.00 and $74,484.80/ year as an LVN, non-exempt; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting or Licensed Vocational Nurse Program; California State Certification in Medical Assisting or Licensed Vocational Nursing.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current IV certification (LVN).
  • One year experience in a physician office or clinic preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience in Pediatrics, Family Practice and/or Internal Medicine preferred. EHR/NexGen experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize tasks in order to meet all given deadlines and productivity goals.
  • Ability to responsibly handle matters of a confidential nature.
  • Ability to work in a multi-task, high demand environment.
