Goodwill PHA - 4-H Youth Mental Health Advocate

The Magic Lantern 4-H Innovation Center's program areas lend themselves well to cross-discipline learning, creative thinking, and problem-solving. The goal is to preserve the theater while utilizing the non-profit revenue-generating operations to fund local youth education. The project runs through a local collaboration between the Maine 4-H Foundation and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in partnership with a local community board. Member Duties : Members will work to combat to combat the effects of stress experienced by youth ages 9 - 20 in the greater Bridgton region and prevent substance abuse/mental health disorders by creating educational outreach programs. In addition, members will strengthen community resilience by developing programs to address the isolation issues being faced by young people and elderly residents in the community. Day to day tasks of the member will include: • Developing and hosting educational programming to advance outreach initiatives at the Magic Lantern Innovation Center. • Plan and coordinate events with external stakeholders (community-based organizations, other agencies, etc.) • Analyze and evaluate data and information, provide accurate tracking, and reporting of outreach engagements. • Recruit, organize and delegate tasks to volunteer staff members.
