Job Description

Clinical Laboratory Technician II

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician II to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a laboratory technician under the supervision of a principal investigator or laboratory manager. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting laboratory procedures and experiments for the phenotypic and genotypic characterization of MDRO, as well as performing serological assays, chemical assays, genetic and molecular biology procedures, and more. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth and safe operation of the laboratory, ensuring quality specimens for testing, and reporting clinical data accurately. This position requires strong teamwork, critical thinking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Clinical Laboratory Technician II: $65-73k

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Clinical Laboratory Technician II Responsibilities Include:
  • Conduct laboratory procedures and experiments for MDRO characterization
  • Perform serological assays, chemical assays, genetic and molecular biology procedures
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and reagents
  • Collect and process blood specimens
  • Verify test method accuracy and precision
  • Collaborate with physicians to analyze results
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records
  • Follow laboratory SOPs and protocols
  • Comply with safety standards and regulations
  • Participate in research and grant proposals
  • Attend relevant seminars and conferences
  • Operate systems for timely and accurate data production
  • Ensure quality specimens for testing
  • Report clinical data accurately
  • Support team knowledge development
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Clinical Laboratory Technician II Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • Familiarity with Phoenix, Microscan, and Vitek2 automated systems
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with critical thinking skills
  • Physical ability to perform standing, walking, lifting, and repetitive motions
  • AS or BS in Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology
  • 3-5 years of clinical microbiology or molecular biology experience
  • Active Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technician (MT) certification
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
