Responsibilities

Assists department heads in identifying training needs of employees.
Offers leadership on safety issues at the Facility.
Maintains and cares for audio-visual equipment used at the Facility.
Utilizes the computer system for Staff Development record keeping.
Trains in nursing procedures, concepts and skills on the nursing units.
Performs research of material on nursing care and issues.
Conducts risk management counseling of individuals as directed by DON or ADON.
Participates/chairs various Facility standing committees
Have ability to manage stress tolerance, pressure and anxiety.
Performs additional functions or special projects, as assigned by the supervisor.
Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization.
Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.
Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.
Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization.
Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.
Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude), including adjusting performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.
Manages Wound care program and needs

Qualifications

DEGREE: Associate’s degree from an accredited school of nursing is necessary. Completion of Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
CERTIFICATION: Current RN license is required. Employee must be in good standing with the state. Possession of a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers CPR certificate is preferred. "Train The Trainer" certificate and thirty (30) hours of continuing education required every two years.
EXPERIENCE: Sufficient experience in order to perform daily tasks with an understanding of the duties involved. A minimum of one year long-term care experience is required.
