In this role you will join the AWS Lambda Runtimes team in Dublin to help shape how developers write and run code across seven languages. You will own and evolve runtime implementations, docs, and security updates while engaging with open-source communities. You’ll balance patch urgency with customer impact at scale, delivering a best-in-class serverless experience. You will work cross-functionally to improve runtime operations and reliability for millions of customers.
Responsibilities
- Own implementation and evolution of Lambda Runtimes across multiple languages
- Maintain documentation and provide security updates
- Coordinate with open-source communities and upstream projects
- Simplify runtime operations to improve efficiency and scalability
- Balance security patching urgency with customer disruption risk
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a robust serverless experience
Key requirements
- Professional software development experience
- Experience designing or architecting large-scale systems or debugging/profiling for scalability
- Experience with open source tools and resources
- Strong programming skills in at least two of: Java, Python, Node. xhuatnn js, Go, Rust
- Collaborative mindset
- Mentorship and teamwork
- Ability to communicate across diverse teams
- Multi-language software development (Java, Python, Node.js, Go, Rust)
- Design patterns and reliability/scaling
- Open source collaboration and tooling
