under general supervision, the sonographer performs routine and complex testing procedures. Studies performed may include but are not limited to: carotid duplex, upper and lower extremity peripheral venous duplex examinations, upper and lower extremity peripheral arterial duplex examinations, physiologic upper and lower extremity arterial examinations, peripheral arterial and dialysis graft surveillance exams, aortic ultrasounds, venous ablation procedures and abdominal vasculature. Performs studies in an efficient, accurate and reproducible manner in accordance with protocols. With the expansion of our Papermill Drive facility, we are expecting to need to fill this position in the very near future.

Required: Basic skills and knowledge in field of vascular sonography as evidenced by certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the ARDMS. Also:

· Thorough knowledge of vascular ultrasound testing procedures and pathology normally obtained through completion of a two-year program in health science with emphasis on sonography or cardiovascular diseases, comprehensive equivalent (one-on-one) on the job training in a vascular laboratory.

· Basic skills and knowledge in field as evidenced by certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the ARDMS.

· At least 30 CME units every three years to maintain a current knowledge base.

· Interpersonal skills necessary to relate well with the patients and their families, physicians and fellow employees in order to reflect a positive guest relations image.

· Analytical skills required for interpreting technical data and preparing preliminary and final reports for physician review

· Ability to stand for extended periods and to assist patients up and down, off the exam table as needed. In addition, may be required to assist in transporting patients to other locations or departments

· Performs related job duties as assigned
