As a Senior Architectural Designer at IPS, you contribute to advanced architectural projects for technically complex life sciences facilities. You collaborate with designers, engineers, and clients to develop design documentation across masterplanning to construction phases. You drive design quality, coordinate with disciplines, and support field activities and BIM/CAD workflows. You will influence design outcomes through problem solving and proactive communication, aligning with our end-to-end, integration-minded approach.
Responsibilities
- Correct and update design documents
- Develop design solutions and coordinate with related engineering disciplines
- Review drawings for compliance with standards
- Prepare design documentation across masterplanning, schematic, preliminary, and construction documentation
- Highlight design changes impacting time and cost to the team
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers/vendors for design inputs
- Perform site visits, field support, and RFI responses as needed
- Create renderings and diagrams; develop project drawings in Revit following BIM/CAD standards
- Assist in design coordination and interpret drawing mark-ups to implement changes
- Lead or support field investigations and coordination meetings
Key requirements
- 8+ years of architectural design office experience
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit with strong BIM workflows understanding xhuatnn
- Experience with MEP integration in architectural designs
- Knowledge of building codes and specification interpretation
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- BA/BS in Architecture or equivalent; NAAB-accredited preferred
