In this role you own production systems that manage the full data lifecycle for AI-powered business applications. You’ll improve performance and scalability of the storage and analytics platform while building secure data interfaces. You collaborate with scientists and engineers to enable model development within privacy and compliance constraints. You’ll shape self-service data platforms and governance features that empower customers to control their data. This is a chance to contribute to AWS’s AI-enabled capabilities at scale and impact how data underpins intelligent products.

Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end software features for event-based data storage systems, from design to deployment and operations, ensuring secure, compliant platforms for AI apps
- Refactor and enhance storage and analytics platform to improve performance, scalability, and operational excellence
- Design software for data access interfaces and authorization within established architectures, with guidance on complex tradeoffs
- Mentor teammates through code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing to promote architectural excellence
- Resolve root causes of operational issues, implement durable fixes for compliance features, data deletion APIs, and opt-out mechanisms
- Collaborate with business application teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Implement security features including encryption, access controls, audit trails, and PII handling for maintainability
- Improve self-service platforms and control planes while balancing feature delivery with governance
- Ensure platform sustainability and governance during feature xhuatnn development and operational work
Key requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship software development experience
- 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (patterns, reliability, scaling)
- Experience with full software development lifecycle (coding standards, reviews, source control, builds, testing, operations)
- Working knowledge of AWS data processing and ML services (e.g., S3, SageMaker)
