We are hiring for the following:

Position: Physician Assistant

Schedule: 8 hours per day, 1 day per week

Location: Buncombe County Detention Center

Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough H&Ps (History & Physical) on assigned patients
Assess and treat acute/chronic medical problems and provide direct care to patients in a correctional setting
Write appropriate orders, to include appropriate medications
Perform lifesaving interventions in emergent cases such as cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, massive hemorrhage, or similar emergencies
Notify supervising Physician regarding any unusual or unexpected events or problems requiring direct Physician consultation
Practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods
Supervise and/or coordinate the activities of patient care and support staffwithin the clinic
Document promptly and properly
Provide health education to patients
Observe requirements set by custody while in the correctional facility, and follow MEDIKO guidelines and protocol.
Provide on-call services as assigned by the facility and/or company needs

Qualifications

Active license as Physician's Assistant or Physician Associate with Certification by NCCPA in a Primary Care clinical discipline
Must hold current DEA Registration
Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved)
