As an AVD Architect in RapidScale’s Consulting Architecture Team, you will shape Azure and AVD strategy for large enterprises, translating business needs into scalable, secure cloud designs. You’ll lead discussions with executives to align technology with objectives and develop roadmaps, TCO models, and implementation plans. Your role balances architecture leadership with hands-on delivery, driving end-to-end optimization across identity, networking, security, and end-user computing. Responsibilities
- Lead stakeholder alignment to define Azure, AVD, and EUC strategies
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable AVD/Azure architectures
- Conduct discovery sessions to capture drivers, dependencies, and constraints
- Define enterprise AVD architecture, standards, and roadmaps across infrastructure
- Develop TCO models, capacity plans, and optimization recommendations
- Provide technical leadership across architecture lifecycle from design to optimization
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Delivery, and Cloud Operations to shape solutions
- Create executive-ready architecture recommendations and documentation
- Mentor architects and engineers to elevate RapidScale’s AVD/Azure capabilities
Key requirements
- Senior cloud architect with extensive Azure and AVD experience
- 8+ years total experience with BA/BS (or 6+ years with MS, 3 years with PhD, or 12+ years with no degree)
- 4+ years hands-on Azure architecture experience
- 3+ years hands-on AVD/Windows Virtual Desktop in enterprise settings
- Experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale AVD environments
- Experience migrating users/applications from traditional EUC/VDI to AVD (Citrix, VMware Horizon, RDS)
- Strong knowledge of: Azure Virtual Desktop, Compute, Virtual Networks, Storage, FSLogix, Entra ID, xhuatnn Active Directory
- Experience with AVD scaling, capacity, performance, and cost optimization
- IaC experience (Terraform, Bicep, ARM); automation for Azure/AVD
- Proven ability to produce architecture diagrams, docs, and customer deliverables
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-140) or equivalent
- Stakeholder collaboration with C-level executives
- Strong communication and presentation to diverse audiences
- Mentorship and leadership of technical teams
