*Full Job Description:*
Encore is seeking a *MRI Technologist – PRN* for the Clermont, FL location. MRI Technologist must be fully competent to perform all MRI routine procedures utilizing the equipment in accordance with physicians’ orders and protocols according to established radiologic standards and procedures and federal regulations. The MRI Technologist must possess strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on exceptional patient care.
*Major Job Functions:*
· Performs all MRI procedures and maintains a thorough working knowledge of the operation of all MRI equipment.
· MRI technologists utilize their knowledge of anatomy, physiology and the principles of MRI to safely and efficiently operate MRI scanners, assisting in the diagnosis of disease and injury.
· Safely operates the scanner and administer contrast in order to produce diagnostic quality MR images.
· Responsible for assessing and clearing the patient for MRI safety. Reviews the physician order or patient chart for appropriate order, diagnosis and physicians’ signature.
· Set appropriate technical parameters, operate MRI scanners and related equipment, and observe image data on computer monitors during scans.
· Be familiar with the differences from a normal image and an abnormal image.
· Assure compliance with federal, state, and local technical and professional regulations and accepted practiced guidelines.
· Prepares the patient for the procedure and answers any questions. Position patients and coils on a table that slides inside the MRI scanner. Inject contrast media as required.
· Responsible for beginning and ending the procedure in the computer system to ensure proper billing for services and maintains accurate record of patients.
· Works effectively to maintain an environment of excellence, which is patient focused, providing timely, compassionate, quality patient care.
· Promotes and maintains a safe work environment for both staff and patients, incorporating national patient safety initiatives.
· May perform other duties major and minor to contribute to the overall success of Encore Imaging.
· Frequent lifting of 25 lbs. or more.
*Education and Formal Training:*
· Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
· Possess current ARRT or ARMRIT certification
· State of Florida certification to practice medical radiography.
· IV Skills Required
· Current CLS certification, or obtain within 90 Days of employment
· CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
· Must maintain CPR certification at all times
Pay: From $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 10 per week
