We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Public Tax Accountant to join our client’s firm. The ideal candidate will play a key role in providing comprehensive tax services and accounting solutions to a variety of small businesses, including landscape, construction, medical practices, retail companies, and high-net-worth individuals. This role requires a strong understanding of financial statement preparation, tax returns, and tax planning, with a focus on personalized client service.

*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Financial Statements:* Prepare and review financial statements, focusing on compilations and accuracy.
* *Tax Return Preparation:* Prepare individual (1040), LLC, and S-Corp tax returns, handling a volume of 900-1200 returns annually.
* *Tax Planning:* Provide comprehensive tax planning services, ensuring optimal tax strategies for small businesses and high-net-worth clients.
* *Client Interaction:* Maintain a heavy client focus, with most interactions centered around QuickBooks. Handle sales tax, 1099 functions, payroll tax, and processing.
* *Business Types:* Specialize in working with businesses with revenues up to $2 million, including landscape, construction, retail, and medical practices.
* *Entity Support:* Prepare and review K1s for small business clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* *Operational Support:* Assist with operational planning, billing, and day-to-day accounting functions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
* *Advisory Growth:* Potential for future growth in advisory services, focusing on tax and accounting consulting for small businesses.
* *Bookkeeping Services:* Provide bookkeeping support as needed

*Requirements:*
* Experience with financial statement preparation, tax returns, and comprehensive tax planning.
* Strong proficiency in Accounting Software.
* Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines, particularly around tax deadlines (March 15, April 15, September 15, and October 15).
* Self-motivated, with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage their own desk.
* Willingness to "roll up their sleeves" and handle both high-level and day-to-day tasks.
* CPA preferred but not required.
* Strong communication and client management skills, with experience preparing for client appointments and advising on tax strategies.

*Work Environment:*
* Expect a 65-hour workweek during busy tax seasons.
* Traditional business hours of 9-5 during off-peak times.
* Collaborative yet old-fashioned work environment, with a focus on meeting tight deadlines.
