A learning and support position, the project engineer is the first step in autonomous project management of construction projects. The project engineer will be responsible for project documentation and compliance items such as RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, daily/weekly reports. Project Engineers also assist the project manager on other project management functions and assist the project superintendents on field management items. This position is a learning and support position with a career path to Project Manager. Responsibilities:Quantity Take-offSubmittalsRequests for InformationSubcontractor CoordinationSafety AuditsMeeting MinutesWeekly ReportsProject CloseoutWarranties / O&M ManualsPunchlistsAs-Built DrawingsAssistance and Learning of Additional Responsibilities on the way to becoming a Project Manager:Conceptual and Hard Bid EstimatingSubcontractor and Supplier Bid SolicitationBid Analysis and Recommendations for AwardProject Scheduling (Master CPM schedule and 4-week look ahead schedules)Job Start-up activitiesPermittingInsuranceUtilitiesPreconstruction meetingsSequence Schedules and Site Staging PlansChange RequestsCost ProjectionsSkills/knowledge:Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.1-3 years of experience as a Project Engineer with a general contractor or a large subcontractor is preferred.Represent the Company and project teams in a positive manner in all project meetings.Able to meet deadlines on multiple projects under different stages of progress in a positive and productive manner.Excellent oral and written skills required.Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft office suite programs.The most successful candidates demonstrate an unwavering commitment to safety, community, quality, sense of urgency, and fun.General:Reporting Relationship: PresidentSupervisory Responsibility: There is no supervisory responsibilities for this position.Work Environment: This job requires approximately 60% office presence and 40% field jobsite presence potentially spread over several states.Physical Demands: This position requires no minimum to lift, bend or stand. Safety must be top priority as this position operates in potentially hazardous conditions.Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position.
