The RN Manager will be the primary resource person to the team members in regard to clinical questions, training opportunities, policy and protocol development, staffing and operational oversight; ensuring the efficiency and professionalism of the Cardiac Testing Department. This position will exercise independent judgement to assess patient needs and work collaboratively with the Medical Staff, providers, nursing staff, administration and support services to provide safe, quality care to patients. This position will be able to triage patient calls, conduct clinical calls to patients, assist providers with patient care when needed, provide education to patients, and coordinate care among an integrated care team. Other duties may be required as delegated by the Regional Director of Cardiopulmonary and Neurodiagnostic Services.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: A graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current licensure as a Registered Nurse on the State of Maine Board of Nursing. BSN preferred.
License/Certifications: Current BLS certification and venipuncture certification and/or experience required. Individual must be ACLS certified within six (6) months of date of hire.
Experience: Two years nursing experience and one year of critical care experience preferred.
Independently uses clinical and testing equipment.
Demonstrates competency to administer a blood pressure.
Demonstrates competency to perform venipuncture on an adult patient.
Demonstrates use of sound judgment and critical thinking skills in the management of department staff and provision of patient care.
