*Associate Family Law Attorney – Job Description*If you want to know about the requirements for this role, read on for all the relevant information.*Position:* Associate Attorney*Practice Area:* Family Law*Employment Type:* Full-Time*Location:* Bangor, Maine*About the Role*We are seeking a motivated and compassionate *Associate Family Law Attorney* to join our growing legal team. The ideal candidate has strong advocacy skills, excellent communication abilities, and a desire to guide clients through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. This position offers immediate client interaction, litigation experience, and professional development within a supportive environment.*Key Responsibilities** Represent clients in family law matters, including:* Divorce, parental rights & responsibilities* Child custody, child support, spousal support* Protection from abuse cases* Post-judgment issues and modifications* Mediation and settlement negotiations* Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and other filings.* Attend court hearings, conferences, and mediations.* Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third parties.* Manage a caseload with supervision and mentorship from senior attorneys.* Provide thoughtful, organized case strategy and compassionate legal advice.* Maintain detailed and timely billing records.*Qualifications** J.D. from an accredited law school.* Admission to the Maine State Bar (or ability to obtain admission promptly).* 0–5 years of family law or litigation experience (family law experience preferred but not required).* Strong written and oral advocacy skills.* Ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple cases.* Empathy, professionalism, and exceptional client communication.*Preferred Skills** Prior experience in family law, mediation, or domestic relations.* Comfort with courtroom practice and negotiation.* Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.* Experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase, Smokeball, etc.).*What We Offer** Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.* Health benefits, PTO, and retirement plan options.* Meaningful courtroom experience and mentorship.* A supportive, team-focused work environment.* Opportunities for professional growth and advancement. xhuatnn *How to Apply*Please submit your résumé, cover letter, writing sample, and references to * * with the subject line: _Associate Family Law Attorney Application – [Your Name]_.Job Type: Full-timePay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person
