This role contributes to the advancement of Regions cyber security program and its capabilities by developing, communicating, and implementing a security architecture. It establishes secure development practices to increase the security of internal systems and collaborates with key stakeholders and teams on business projects and initiatives. Primary Responsibilities Develops and establishes a strategic cyber security architecture and vision, including standards and frameworks aligned with Regions information technology strategy Provides advisory and consultative services to businesses, IT groups, and cyber security senior leadership Collaborates with Enterprise Architecture and Application Development to enhance security of new and existing systems Designs cyber security architecture, evaluates and mitigates risk, and approves production deployment of systems and applications Performs assessments using NIST Cyber Security Framework and FFIEC Cyber Assessment Tool to identify gaps and remediate deficiencies Ensures systems and applications are implemented with compensating controls to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., GLBA, SOX, HIPAA, FFIEC, PCI) and other internal compliance Tracks metrics for compliance to internal cyber security standards Provides consultative services related to large business projects May lead junior architects and assist in developing necessary skills and technical knowledge Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field Seven (7) years of experience in cyber security, with focus on software development, secure SDLC, or security architecture Preferences Experience in design and implementation of cyber security solutions Skills And Competencies Ability to evaluate risk vs. reward independently Strong problem-solving, judgement, and communication skills Ability to translate complex technical information across all levels of the organization Team-oriented work capability Advanced knowledge of risks in virtualization and cloud computing and their impact on security posture Advanced knowledge of security principles, tools, methodologies, and techniques Proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong project management, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills Strong work ethic and self-motivation Additional Job Description You will be a subject-matter expert for securing GenAI capabilities (LLM APIs, agent frameworks, RAG pipelines, MCP-based tools, and Agentic AI). Youll design controls that protect data, ensure safe tool use, and meet emerging AI-specific regulations and standards. GenAI Security Details Architecting secure cloud workloads in AWS and/or Azure with production security considerations Architecting secure LLM integrations across clouds and model providers (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI Service) Securing Agentic AI workflows by mitigating risks such as over-permissioning, SSRF, and data exfiltration through sandboxing and access controls Designing and governing RAG pipelines with data classification, PII scrubbing, guarding rules, and compliance for prompts, retention, lineage, and tenant isolation Threat-modeling GenAI systems (OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, MITRE ATLAS) and addressing prompt injection, data poisoning, and other risks Monitoring model quality and responses with automated evaluation pipelines and human-in-the-loop escalation for sensitive outputs Securing Model Context Protocol (MCP) implementations with authentication, scoping, sandboxing, and auditing Applying frameworks and guidance (NIST AI RMF, OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, MITRE ATLAS, Google SAIF, UK NCSC AI guidance) Applying governance and regulatory frameworks such as ISO/IEC 42001 AI Management System This position is intended to be onsite, with regular office presence three or more days a week. Relocation is not provided. The role requires being within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham, AL; Atlanta, GA; Nashville, TN; or Charlotte, NC. Exceptions may be made for Regions associates who work remotely. Position Type Full time Compensation Details Pay ranges are provided as a point-of-market reference. Minimum and target figures reflect Metropolitan Statistical Area market ranges and depend on experience, skills, and performance. Details below are indicative and may vary by location and candidate.
