As a Veterinary Technician at Animal Emergency Center, you will play a crucial role in assisting veterinarians in providing medical care to animals. Key Responsibilities:
* *Animal Care*: Provide compassionate care to animals, including feeding, grooming, and administering medications as directed by the veterinarian.
* *Medical Assistance*: Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures. This includes preparing surgical equipment, monitoring anesthesia, and providing post-operative care. Place and maintain IV catheters. Perform emergency procedures including: control bleeding, resuscitate with oxygen, establish open airway breathing by intubation, perform external cardiac massage, apply temporary bandages or splints, provide external supportive treatment or wounds, burns, and heat exhaustion.
* *Laboratory Work*: Collect blood for internal and external laboratory analysis, and prepare corresponding paperwork. Perform various laboratory tests such as bloodwork, urinalysis, and microbiological cultures. Accurately record and report test results to veterinarians.
* *Radiography*: Take and develop radiographs (X-rays) of animals as directed by the veterinarian. Ensure proper positioning of animals and adherence to safety protocols.
* *Client Communication*: Interact with clients to gather information about their pets' health history, explain treatment plans, and provide instructions for home care.
* *Administrative Tasks*: Maintain accurate records of patient care, including medical histories, treatment plans, and billing information. Assist Client Service Representatives as needed.
* *Facility Maintenance*: Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the clinic, including disinfecting examination rooms and equipment, and restocking supplies as needed.

Qualifications:
* *Education*: High School Diploma. Associate (Required)
* *Experience*: Veterinary hospital : 1 year (Required)
* *Certification*: Certifications as a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) as required by state regulations (Preferred)
* *Knowledge*: Strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and common diseases. Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
* *Technical Skills*: Proficiency in administering medications, collecting lab samples, and operating veterinary equipment such as radiography machines and anesthesia monitors.
* *Communication Skills*: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other team members.
* *Compassion*: Genuine care and empathy for animals and their owners, with a commitment to providing high-quality veterinary care.
* *Organization*: Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must be able to lift 50 pounds and remain standing for long periods of time as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
