The C.W. Williams Community Health Center, Inc. is expanding and seeking an experienced Medical Biller/Coder to join our finance team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and coding with the skills necessary to improve our billing and coding processes.

RESPONSIBILITES:
Review billing cycle for accuracy
Comply with all legal requirements regarding coding procedures and practices
Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and precise
Assign and sequence all codes for services rendered
Contact physicians and other health care professionals with questions about treatments or diagnostic tests given to patients with regard to coding procedures
Insurance accounts receivable follow up. This would include investigating denied, underpaid and overpaid claims and doing appeals.
Reconcile customer disputes as they pertain to payment of outstanding balances that are due. Provide excellent & considerate customer service to patients.
Take accountability for personal productivity and quality output.
Any other tasks required to continue or maintain the billing process.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Associates (2 year degree) or Certification preferred.
Minimum three (3) years medical coding and billing experience.
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR), experience with Athena a plus
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT 4 codes and procedures.
Proficient skills in computer programs including medical management software, Athena a plus.
Skill in computer and spreadsheet applications.
Excellent Communications skills oral and written.
Ability to read, understand and explain insurance EOBs
