A Patient Care tech has accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. FULL-TIME DAY SHIFT NEEDED*

Unit Description:
We are 2 West, the best unit you'll ever work on. We are a 28-bed Intermediate Care unit and if you believe that variety is the spice of life, we have it. From post cardiac catheterization to sepsis to respiratory, we take a little of everything. Our aides typically take a 7-12 patient assignment with support from a clerk and mid-shift aide. Shift Details: Full-time day shift, some weekend and holiday requirements
Department/Unit: Intermediate Care
Shift differentials given for evenings, nights and weekends

Responds to patient care needs by answering call lights, assisting patients with hygiene care, obtaining vital signs, and communicating constructively, effectively and timely with members of the care team.
Performs 12-lead EKG duties commensurate with the level of training received and competency.
Apply, check and document restraints as directed by the RN or physician.
Performs wound care, stoma care, and specimen collection.
Performs equipment and tube care/management e.g. Orders and maintains office and patient care floor stock/supplies.
Performs the duties of unit secretary. Maintains patient charts, responds to phone calls, maintains daily assignment board, provides equipment care/cleaning, performs errands associated with patient care and provides accurate information about the patient with interdisciplinary team.
Promotes the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and abides by Service Behavior Standards.
Demonstrates and adheres to the standards of infection prevention.
May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant training program
Certification as a Nursing Assistant (C N A ) in the state of practice Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP)certification upon hire or obtained within 60 days of hire with prior approval
1+ years of previous experience in a health care setting

Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required. . Ability to work nights and/or weekends is required for identified positions.

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.- and -Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.- and -Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- Platte Valley Hospital
