Our materials are being used on ground-breaking space initiatives such as the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle and the heat shield for NASA's Mars 2020 mission, important missile programs, airfoils in commercial and military jet engines, and as lightweight armor for U.S. military ground vehicles. Your role: Spirit Maine is seeking an energetic Manufacturing Engineer with a drive for success to add to our Engineering team As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for the support of current production systems and future improvements in safety, quality, cost, and cycle time. You will also coordinate and direct projects, make detailed plans to accomplish goals and direct the integration of technical activities, such as, process improvements, equipment installation/modification, and material system development. To be a successful Manufacturing Engineer, you will achieve results in solving technical problems, improving existing processes, and supporting customer focused programs. There will be opportunities to get hands-on experience in a wide range of manufacturing and engineering disciplines.Job Responsibilities:Help evolve technical machining center(s) and product machining definition in production facilityIdentify, design, and implement process improvements in assigned areas of responsibility using CNC, Lean/Six Sigma tools and GD&TProvide technical support for 7x24 manufacturing facility in assigned areas of responsibilityAnalyze technology requirements, resource needs, and schedules to assess and plan project executionPerform root cause analysis for failure investigations and other data analysis tasks, make data-driven decisionsSupport non-conformance program and implement preventive actionsWrite periodic reports or oral presentations to management and customers on specific projectsDesign and develop new equipment for future production systemsEnsure that health and safety policies are followedApply quality standards to ensure compliance with certification requirements in plant applicationsWork with internal and external customers to develop and qualify process changes and provide technical servicesWhat we need from you:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline3+ years of related machining experience in manufacturingExperience with GD&T, Product or Tool Design and Engineering drawing approval standards.
