Job Summary An electrician performs all types of electrical jobs throughout assigned locations or regions. Electrical jobs include maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery used in production and manufacturing.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment
- Install, adjust and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges and instruments
- Troubleshoot, evaluate and coordinate electrical needs, repairs and modifications
- Ensure that manufacturers standards of repair and maintenance are performed on all equipment
- Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned
- Maintain good housekeeping
- Wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
- Meet or exceed company safety standards
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
- 5 years electrical maintenance experience
- 3 years experience in aggregate, cement or heavy industrial operations preferred
- Power distribution experience or understanding up to 4,160 volts
- Programmable logic control and digital drive experience
- High school graduate
- Prefer associate degree or equivalent in electrical maintenance experience
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Bilingual a plus
- Computer literate and able to use existing systems and grow into company networked programs of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes.
- SAP experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical/problem-solving skills
- Able to read and understand English sufficiently to be able to read technical information contained in manuals, reports and related instructions
- Able to develop, read, and use mechanical, electrical, and structural sketches, blueprints and drawings
- Good mathematic/mechanical aptitude
- Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
- Must wear protective equipment while at the location
- Electrical troubleshooting skills and experience with motor control circuits and relay logic
- Able to prioritize tasks and work as a team member, as well as individually
- Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing to a significant degree, and/or pulling of controls
- Heavy Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
