We are currently hiring the following position:

* Field Service Engineer

The Field Service Engineer for Leica Biosystems is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of histology and pathology diagnostic equipment.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

* Provide installation support, maintenance, modification and/or repair on 1-2 groups of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and/or refrigeration instruments, receiving mentoring/ride-along from team members as required to achieve full competency on trained instruments.

* Actively support the sale of service contracts, assist sales representatives and service team members with system configurations and upgrades, and provide feedback on ways to improve financial performance to generate service revenue.

* Effectively communicate with internal colleagues and external customers within established time guidelines to meet customer expectations. Document and complete service administration activities in a timely manner to follow ISO, FDA, and Leica policies.

The essential requirements of the job include:

* Associate's degree

* At least 1 year of experience in the installation support, maintenance, modification and/or repair of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and/or refrigeration instruments or equivalent military experience (senior engineers encouraged to apply to be considered at a higher level).

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

* Ability to travel throughout the region of Maryland, Virginia, Washington D.C. and surrounding areas.

* Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

* Troubleshooting and networking/IT system upgrades.

* Diagnosing and repairing medical devices

* Field Service Engineering for electrical/mechanical/biomedical equipment or scientific instruments.

The hourly range for this role is $33.00 - 38.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

This position services Maryland, Virginia, D.C. and surrounding areas with significant time spent in Charlottesville, VA.
