Responsibilities:
This role will oversee procurement transactions as part of the Global Procurement Services team. You will work with business leadership and cross-functional stakeholders on a variety of complex procurement transactions. You will lead a team to develop and implement contracting strategies, processes, and frameworks for the procurement of software, goods, and services. You and your team will be the primary points of contact in Cisco responsible for negotiating transactions critical to Cisco's growth.
In addition, you will:
Engage strategically with our business partners to develop optimized contract systems and platforms.
Structure commercial partnerships with our vendors across a wide range of transactions.
Lead and develop a team to proactively engage with stakeholders to streamline and accelerate our contract processes.
Negotiate and draft a wide variety of agreements.
Engage with business partners on various issues.
We are looking for a solutions-driven, agile, and talented leader with complex technology transactions experience to join our exciting team as Senior Director. The ideal candidate is a leader who can inspire a team to design and adopt new processes and systems, challenge the old ways of doing things, and use data and digitized processes to help deliver world-class procurement services. This candidate has a sharp business focus, is proactive, decisive, and highly collaborative. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and drafting skills and the ability to synthesize complex issues and influence and lead across functions are required.
What are we looking for?
15+ years of relevant experience.
Ability to understand complex contractual issues, assess risk, and provide concise, plain English, business-focused advice.
Extensive background in software licensing (cloud computing and SaaS experience a plus), commercial transactions, drafting agreements, and intellectual property - ideally on the in-bound side.
Knowledge and background using contracting and procurement tools and applications.
Experience building business relationships and gaining the trust of internal clients.
Ability to craft creative solutions and demonstrated success using systems and automation to drive innovation and results.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure; ability to self-start and lead projects.
Prior experience successfully leading teams.
Experience working across multiple internal business stakeholders (e.g., finance, operations, and other functions).
Sound business judgment and exceptional communications and inter-personal skills aimed at the senior executive level.
Strategic thinking, as well as superior time-management and organization skills.
