The Talent Development Manager will manage all facets of talent development programs and initiatives that align with Fort Wayne Metals' strategic objectives. They will serve as an active participant in the workforce planning process to identify skill needs and gaps and ensure our workforce remains aligned with organizational goals while supporting the Talent Development Team's growth and development. The Talent Devlopment Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the Talent Development team's activities to support current and future business needs.
Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in training, organizational development, human resources, or other related field.
- Minimum 5 years' in training and development necessary, organizational development, training or related field.
- Experience in a leadership role preferred.
- SHRM-SCP, Certified Professional in Talent Development or Associate Professional in Talent strongly preferred.
- Collaborate with management to identify top talent needs that support FWM strategic growth and develop target candidates aligning to the talent management initiatives. Participate as an engaged member of the People & Strategy leadership team, seeking cross-functional input on continuous improvement.
- Conduct and oversee needs assessments in collaboration with Fort Wayne Metals department heads and executives, to determine skill gaps and training needs of personnel at all levels. Research and make recommendations for training programs to meet the training needs and drive consistency in standards of service.
- Conduct and oversee needs assessments in collaboration with senior leadership and department leaders to assess the current skill levels and future skill needs of employees. Research and make recommendations for talent development programs to support employee skill needs. Evaluate the effectiveness of talent development programs throughout the year, adjusting as needed.
- Manage programs that capture and curate institutional knowledge with a specific focus on technical subject matter experts whose positions contribute to the originations' continued competitive advantage.
- Research and remain current on contemporary learning and development trends and training methodologies including technology enhancements.
- Model and create continuous learning mindset amongst teams via active use and engagement with the learning tools ad opportunities provided by FWM.
- Conduct 1:1s with direct reports according to FWM's schedule.
- Promote development among team members by identifying growth opportunities, encouraging stretch assignments and providing support for continual learning and advancement.
- Manage individuals based on the essential functions and responsibilities as listed in their job description.
- Advanced computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong business acumen and customer focus.
- Ability to self-direct and manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exhibit excellent organizational skills and be able to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization, internal and external.
- Presentation, project management and problem solving skills.
- Analytical skills required for good decision making, able to manage confidential information.
- Fast paced office environment.
- Travel between facilities required.
- Must be able to access all areas of operation, including second floors.
- Sitting and working at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Moderate amounts of time are spent in the presentation of training programs intermittently.
