Corky's BBQ was established in 1984 and has since expanded to four Company restaurants, four franchise restaurants, a distribution company that supports QVC customers, and a manufacturing company that supports retail sales to major grocers.

The Controller will report to the CFO and work closely with owners and executive leadership. The Controller candidate will demonstrate a strong character and work ethic, a commitment to excellence, an ability to lead, and a focus on delivering legendary customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise reporting and general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales and inventory.
  • Coordinate month-end close for Sales, Accounts Receivable, Inventory and General Ledger.
  • Coordinate or assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Assist in the preparation and publishing of monthly financial statements.
  • Produce timely and reliable management information reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Develop and implement best practices in inventory management, costing, reporting, cycle counts, etc.
Requirements
  • Prior accounting experience with progressively increasing responsibilities (7-10 years)
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and accounting processes (budgeting, close, reporting, etc.)
  • Displays sound organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, and accounting software (Great Plains)
  • BS/BA in accounting (Required)
  • Master's degree and/or CPA (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing experience (Highly Preferred)
  • Hospitality or restaurant experience (Preferred)
