INTRODUCTION:
Cross Border Xpress "CBX" is the most exciting and innovative trans-border project ever built between two countries and a true symbol of binational collaboration and innovation between the USA and Mexico. It functions as a secondary airport for the City of San Diego. The Cross Border Xpress represents a substantial private investment in public infrastructure and serves as an economic engine for the Tijuana-San Diego region.
CBX is an enclosed pedestrian sky bridge that spans across the U.S.-Mexico border, connecting a passenger building in San Diego directly to the Tijuana International Airport (TIJ). Cross Border Xpress provides direct, secure access for close to four million TIJ passengers per year who previously crossed the border at congested ports of entry in San Ysidro and Otay Mesa, which endured unpredictable border wait times and lengthy delays. TIJ offers flights to more than 35 destinations with greater frequency to interior Mexico than airports in Southern California and two direct China destinations.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This position resides (is located) in San Diego, CA. It is not a remote or Hybrid position.
The primary purpose of the position:
To ensure the management of daily operations within the area by coordinating SD Duty Managers to provide quality services to passengers. The Operation Manager should also work closely with them to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Essential job functions (include the following and other duties may be assigned as needed):
Serve as the coordinator of the LAZ duty managers and the primary point of contact between them and the COO. Assume the COO's role in his absence.
Collaborate with the COO in the quarterly evaluation of Laz and Vortex
Attend and coordinate weekly meetings of the Operations Department to follow up on agreements made.
Ensure compliance with Operations Department projects through timely monitoring.
Define and communicate the process, rules, and protocols for LAZ to follow. Ensure all are documented and maintained updated.
Day-to-day review, controls, and audits of LAZ performance
Ownership of LAZ and Vortex budget and weekly/periodic review of costs Vs Budget
Using innovation, look for improvement in processes to deliver cost savings and/or CX improvements
Close relationship with IT to ensure optimum use of technology for efficiency and customer experience
Define, share, and measure the KPIs of LAZ and Vortex
Cooperate with the CBX parking team to ensure collaboration, integration, and staff sharing.
Responsible for attendance reports with LAZ, as well as proper staff profiles and training
Ensure perfect maintenance of the terminal building by collaborating with the CBX maintenance team.
Responsible for defining and leading projects to ensure continuous improvement.
Work with HR and LAZ to ensure the implementation of work practices to deliver a great place to work experience to all the staff.
Represent CBX in front of CBP. Cooperate with INAMI, ANAM and GAP via Tijuana's senior manager.
Responsible for promoting healthy P&L (a clear understanding of budgets, headcount, Capex)
Collaborate with the Customer Service team to understand and communicate customer complaints and the NPS results to all the staff to ensure a continued focus on the best customer experience.
Qualification Standards:
