Electronic Systems EngineerWe have an exciting and important opportunity for the right person to join our Intelligent HVAC Systems engineering and product development team to design and commercialize unique, purpose-built HVAC systems as an Electronic Systems Engineer. This is an early-career, hands-on, highly visible role in a rapidly growing and evolving company with plenty of room to grow We are seeking someone with at least 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in designing and testing complex electronic systems such as embedded devices, wireless devices, and power electronics systems.Major Areas of Responsibility:Support design and development of electronic controls for HVAC systemsBuild prototypes, modify, test, and troubleshoot electronic hardware and associated HVAC system components and instrumentsSupport design and development of electronic circuit boards, including selection of appropriate electronic componentsSupport HVAC system build-up, modifications, and testingUtilize typical electrical test equipment to analyze and troubleshoot board and system-level electrical issuesEnsure all designs, tests, and development activities are well-documentedDevelop procedures and manuals as necessaryAddress and solve electronics packaging issues, including electrical isolation, sealing, thermal management, interconnection, electromagnetic interference (EMI), etc.Job Location:Carrollton, TXRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering required1-3 years of demonstrable experienceBroad knowledge of electronic control systems, including embedded hardware and power electronicsHands-on experience with testing of electronic components and systems with embedded electronicsGood understanding of technologies such as BLE, Wi-Fi, power management, sensor control, USB, UART, I2C, and various bus communication technologiesExperience with current microprocessor devices and technologies including ARM SOCs, various microcontrollers, flash, and memorySolid understanding of the theory and application of magnetics (inductors, transformers) and capacitors (Electrolytic, film, and Ceramic) used for power conversionStrong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design and micro-processorsProficiency with basic EE tools such as Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, and Signal GeneratorsExperience with analog/digital circuit design, micro-processors, PCB design, and layout (preferred)Familiarity with embedded firmware and software, with the ability to modify and update as neededWorking knowledge of embedded C, Linux, and Linux operating systemsFamiliarity with modern electronics design and simulation toolsExperience with electronic CAD tools such as KiCad, OrCAD/Cadence, and Altium
