About the Role:

Are you ready to be the captain of our digital security flight crew? As the leader of our Information Security team, you'll navigate the skies of cybersecurity to ensure the safety and integrity of our Authority's critical technology and data. You'll design and maintain top-tier security protocols, implementing the latest technologies to keep our systems on course and free from cyber turbulence.

You'll guide our team of cybersecurity analysts and collaborate with external vendors, setting a clear flight path for our initiatives and ensuring all security measures are integrated seamlessly into the Authority's operations. Your leadership will provide the guidance needed to keep our digital assets secure, enabling us to soar confidently into the future while protecting everything that keeps us flying smoothly.

Compensation:

Maximum - Based on experience

Minimum - $112,132.79

What You'll Do:
  • Performs continuous improvement of security related practices, documentation, and
    technology to provide the highest possible level of organization-wide security.
  • Implements appropriate IT security controls (administrative, technical, physical) to authority
    resources, ensuring that company systems are set up according to defined policies and industry
    standards.
  • Manages IS Analyst, responsible for assignment of duties, oversight of programs that reside in
    the security group, setting goals, driving training initiatives, and working as a team to develop
    and maintain security related practices and policies.
  • Monitors and responds to critical systems as they relate to security, providing near real-time
    incident and event management/response. These include network monitoring, email security
    appliances, firewalls, anti-virus, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems
    (IPs).
  • Develops, maintains, and implements the disaster recovery and business continuity program
    (DRBC). This program, and associated components, set the framework from which the
    organization can prepare for, and respond to, the loss of data, system components, or the loss
    of larger infrastructure and business components related to information services.
What You Need:

Education
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field OR equivalent related
    experience
Experience
Required:
  • 7 years of researching, developing, and implementing information security procedures and
    technology, supplemented by managerial responsibility.
    Preferred:
  • 9 years of researching, developing, and implementing information security procedures and
    technology, supplemented by managerial responsibility.
Licenses or Certifications
Required:
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License
Preferred:
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
  • Project Management certification (CompTIA Project+ or similar)
