Site Plant Manager

As the Site Manager, you will develop and maintain an organization within the site that supports both Business and Operational strategies in the Aerospace business unit. You will be responsible for providing strategic, developmental, and tactical direction of the facility to drive Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement. Additionally, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of product to our customers within the desired Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Customer Service standards. This position is based at our Huntsville, AL. facility and you will report to the Director of Global Operations.Key ResponsibilitiesBe actively engaged in Safety and Quality; lead by example and ensure operational discipline and compliance with both company and regulatory standards and requirements are fulfilled for all departments on site. (Also that do not directly report to the site manager such as Finance, Technical service etc)(Regularly monitor and review Environmental, Health, and Safety performance; ensure compliance and continuous improvement in striving for a risk-free manufacturing environment.Build and develop an organizational culture that has a bias for action, commitment to value-added services/processes, and a sense of accountability and leadershipMonitor and improve Key Performance Indicators; lead corrective action to deviations to plan as appropriateFacilitate communications throughout the site and within the respective SBU, Platform, and Functional teams offsite.Provide the critical thinking necessary to lead and direct the analysis of alternative approaches and methodologies necessary to deliver efficiencies and simplicity.Strive to ensure that the service requirements for performance, as dictated by internal and external customers, are achieved.Develop and manage the strategies and processes of the operational functions within the site; ensure alignment and progress on process standardization, accomplishment, and collaboration.Delegates work assignments and tasks while matching responsibilities to the employee; sets expectations and monitors performance while providing feedback and recognition of results.Deliver financial commitments to operating plans; achieve expense, variance, and production plans as budgeted.Actively participate in Working Capital management; including regular communication and action to address deviations to plan.Anticipate technological changes in the industry and review opportunities to enhance operations in order to optimize productivity, support business growth, and deliver competitive advantages.Generate ideas and plans to enhance the performance of the manufacturing site, e.g., safety, process, rate, yields and quality improvement through lean manufacturing and six sigma concepts. Stimulate site personnel to think outside the box.Drive the root cause/corrective action process for critical issues and ensure that all corrective actions are completed and sustained and drive the predicted results.Conformance with the PPG and SBU Quality and EH&S policies. Ensure MOCs, RCCA for EHS CARs and Quality CARs are completed as expected. Experience of working in a highly regulated environment, ideally AS9100D.Lead and drive cross-functional teams to achieve measurable resultsCommunicate to all levels within organization from upper management to shop floor and from customers to vendors.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in a technical discipline, engineering preferred.10 - 15+ years of operations and engineering experience, preferably in discrete manufacturing operation.5 - 10+ years of management/supervisory experience.Labor relations experience is a bonusAbility to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information; develop alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; and uses reason even when dealing with complex topics.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands, and to seek manager assistance as appropriate, while being self-directed.Demonstrated success in driving improved performance and metrics.Influence others to adopt new ideas and see alternate perspectivesAbility to identify and develop high-growth talentAbility to develop short and long term vision for site policies, processes and structureAbility to determine critical data requirements and tools needed to understand and analyze gaps through all aspects of the value streamMust be US Citizen.#LI-OnsitePPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
