Description
SUMMARY:
The Survey Apprentice is a part time role that will assist technicians in conducting precise land and site surveys using advanced GPS technologies. The employee will assist in fieldwork to finish the process of capturing data in the field and processing in the office ensuring high-quality deliverables for our client's projects. Majority of assignments will be done in the field, with some office work included.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Current enrollment or recent graduate from a program in Land Surveying or related field preferred.
- Previous surveying experience preferred.
- AutoCAD civil 3d experience preferred.
- Trimble surveying equipment experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to perform precise measurements and calculations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and contribute to a team.
- Self-Motivated - Shows initiative and the ability to achieve something with one's own enthusiasm or interest without needing pressure from others.
- Detailed - Able to pay close attention to the small particulars when working on a particular task in order to produce a high-quality product.
- Numerically Inclined - Able to read, understand, and process numerical data; able to solve moderate to complex equations.
- Reliable - Able to accept and complete duties according to necessary specifications.
- Willingness to Learn - Desire for continuous learning and self-improvement.
- Conduct land surveys using advanced equipment such as total stations and GPS receivers.
- Assist the Professional Land Surveyor on projects from planning to completion.
- Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other software for mapping and drafting.
- Collect and analyze data to produce accurate deliverables.
- Ensure survey accuracy through precise measurements and calculations.
- Maintain and provide QA/QC of field documentation and paperwork.
- Ensure safety and quality standards, policies and procedures are complied with.
