On any given day, you'll:

  • Perform construction management/oversight of municipal infrastructure projects in the northeast Wisconsin area.
  • Assist in the preparation of various design reports, specifications, letters, and permit applications.
  • Perform quantity measurements and computations, record keeping, contractor pay estimate preparation and review of contractor progress; materials testing; field staking and general inspection for municipal road projects.
  • Produce drawings and construction plans (e.g. general civil, roadway, site development, and utility design) using a CADD workstation and Civil3D.
  • Maintain client and subcontractor relations while in the field.
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications and take appropriate action to ensure the project is constructed in conformance with the requirements of the project construction contract.
  • Prepare plans and research design standards and code requirements and conduct field investigation of design problems.
  • Collaborate with a design team to discuss project objectives, challenges and identify design strategies to provide our clients with smart, creative, solutions.
  • Analyze sketches, notes, and provide input to determine best approach to complex drawings.
Required qualifications:
  • Strong written/verbal communications skills and the ability to operate independently.
  • An understanding of municipal infrastructure construction management, including sanitary sewer, storm sewer, water main, and roadway construction experience.
  • In-depth understanding of the construction industry.
  • Ability to walk over uneven terrain and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
Desired skills and experiences:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in civil engineering technology or construction management.
  • Experience in Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Staking/survey experience
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal rules and regulations related to general construction practices.
