Job Summary and QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY:
The RN staff nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare and the Texas Board of Nursing. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the healthcare team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and coordinates treatment plans.
What qualifications you will need:
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
- RN licensed in state of Texas or Compact State
- BCLS
- ACLS (6 months from hire for GN’s or transfer into unit)
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Associates, BSN or RN Diploma
PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Preferred experience as RN in Critical Care.
- Preferred experience a RN 1-2 years in Med-Surg or Telemetry.
- TNCC and CCRN
- Effective communication skills; both orally and written.
- Computer skills.
- Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to move an excess of 100 pounds, with assistance from other staff
The RN Plus Intensive Care Unit Transition Program provides a comprehensive blended program that bridges the nursing practice gap for experienced RNs transitioning into the ICU specialty.
Program Start Date: July 29th, 2024
Program Overview:
- Interactive classroom discussions, case studies, hands‐on skills training, and simulations with experienced RN instructors
- Unit‐based clinical preceptorship
Attendance is imperative and all days are required to remain in the program. No days can be missed during the first few weeks on training.
Interactive classroom lectures/discussions
- Curriculum-based on evidence-based practice, National Standards and HCA Healthcare Clinical Standards of Excellence
- Basic Dysrhythmia
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Critical Care Medication Management
- CPI – Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Foundation Course
- AIDET, SBAR, Patient Experience, Fall Prevention and more
Hands-on ICU RN Skills Training, that includes but not limited to:
- IV and Phlebotomy
- Ventriculostomy Set Up and Management
- Chest Tube Management
- Pump Management and Blood Administration
- Hemodynamic Monitoring
- Ventilator management/troubleshooting
