Our multidisciplinary teams work on projects of all sizes in commercial, retail, institutional, government, industrial, and project/construction management sectors.Position OverviewCoffman Engineers’ Seattle office is seeking an innovative and quality-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer with over 8 years of professional experience. This role involves providing consulting services for internal and external clients, focusing primarily on industrial project design. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign Industrial Systems: Power, Communications, Lighting, and Control Systems including:Medium and low voltage power distributionEmergency and standby power systemsGrounding and controlsLow voltage systems (Telecommunications, Security, CCTV, Access Controls)Conduct Electrical Power System Studies: Load studies, fault current analysis, coordination/arc flash hazard studiesDevelop Specifications and Construction Support:Review submittals and shop drawingsRespond to contractor RFIsPerform site inspectionsQualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldMinimum 8 years of consulting Electrical Engineering experienceStrong communication skillsKnowledge of electrical codes (NEC, NESC, WAC) and standards (NFPA, IEEE)Preferred:Registration as a State of Washington Professional EngineerExperience with medium voltage power distribution and substation designProficiency in grounding system designIndustrial controls/SCADA experienceHazardous location design experienceFamiliarity with SKM or ETAP software for electrical power system studiesProject management skillsWhy Join Coffman Engineers?
