THE ROLE

International Field Engineers play a crucial role in delivering world-class smart security, video, home automation and other state of the art solutions to the international markets that Alarm.com serves. You will hold the responsibility for analyzing customer requirements, creating, and demonstrating tailored solutions, and providing product and project support throughout the sales and implementation process. Your skills will directly contribute to the successful adoption of our technology, enhancing the experience of our customers around the globe.

Field engineers are doers who immerse themselves in our customers' most intricate business needs, and dive into the issues to enable us to scale. At times, you will be deployed to ADC internal teams and solve problems. In this role, the problems you'll tackle will require a curious and analytical mindset, a sharp intuition for product, and a strong degree of user empathy to ultimately drive to resolution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Collaborating with Sales, Technical Account Management, Project Management, and International Support teams to gather field requirements. Working closely with the technology team to define, design, and deliver solutions tailored to international market needs.
  • Participating in customer-facing activities as necessary, including solution demonstrations, roadmap discussions, proof of concept deployments, customer events, and tradeshows.
  • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with key international stakeholders, while demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of their unique needs and challenges.
  • Engaging in technical and project-related discussions during the sales cycle to secure deals, ensure smooth onboarding, and maintain ongoing satisfaction of international clients.
  • Staying up to date of industry trends, competitor offerings, and regional regulations to ensure Alarm.com solutions remain competitive in international markets.
  • Traveling, as required and subject to global circumstances, to support international clients, conferences, and partner events.
  • Managing international priorities, focusing on delivering products and features that contribute to the achievement of global and strategic business development goals.
  • Collaborating with product management and engineering teams to influence product roadmaps based on international market needs.
  • Presenting work outcomes and proposals for future initiatives to a diverse audience, ranging from analysts to C-suite executives.

WHAT WE VALUE
  • B.S./M.S. in Engineering, Operation Research, Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of smart security, home automation, or IoT systems, including hardware, software, and networking components.
  • Experience with international project management, preferably with a focus on technology deployment.
  • 3 years of technical proficiency is required, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills. You must build great relationships to convey and debate rationale.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to break down complex concepts/problems and attention to detail.
  • Empathy. You strive to understand users and fight to empower them.
  • A highly iterative problem-solving process. You move fast, listen, and adapt. You rapidly incorporate feedback and prioritize collaboration.
  • Extraordinary ability to take on open-ended problems in unstructured environments.
  • Ability to think creatively and define product and customer needs.
  • Demonstrate ability to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently, while adhering to strict timelines.
  • Willingness to adapt to a constantly evolving industry and capability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Process engineering, Product Owner or Scrum Master experience is a plus.
  • Fluency in multiple languages is highly desirable.
