Locums Poplar Bluff, Missouri, OB/GYN Hospitalist Job

• • Clinical Role:

    • Will need to receive privileges to cover night call
    • Shifts per block needed to be filled by agency: Up to 15 looking for 2-3 days in a row during the week ; scheduled start is 9/1 Clinic plus call Mon-Fri ; No Weekends; Can do phone triage; Feels like a private practice with call
    • Expected timeframe for need: 3-6 month with a diminishing number of available shifts as we recruit
    • Root cause for opening req: New program
    • Temp Labor in place and deadline: Start date of 9/1/24
    • Hospital EMR: Cerner
    • Clinic EMR: Athena
    • Expected patients per day: 1-2 triage, 35 in clinic Monday-Friday
    • Will accept board eligible providers (assuming theyve passed first part of exams) or only board certified providers but strongly prefer BC
    • COVID vaccine required but exemptions allowed
    • Average annual or monthly clinic volume: 35 visits per day
    • Providers average number of patients in the clinic daily: 3 - 1 MD; 1 CNM; 1 FNP
    • Clinic scheduled hours of operation: M-F 7:30am-4pm
    • After hours call process for patients: call the clinic number to reach an on-call provider
    • Types of procedures preformed in the clinic:
      • Colposcopy
      • LEEP
      • IUD placement
      • Nexplanon insertion/removal
    • Clinic has a CLIA license
    • Clinic perform ultrasounds with sonographer on site, the OB Physicians provide results
    • Current OR day Thursday
    • Point of Care testing is performed in the clinic:
      • Normal POC CLIA waived
      • HCG
      • Glucose
      • COVID-19
      • Strep
      • Flu
      • Also a moderately complex lab in same location
    • Annual Births 350 at one location and 1,200+ at other, 6-10 unassigned deliveries per year
    • Annual GYN surgery volume 125
    • Assists with c-sections: OB Provider, OB Tech, and OB RN
    • Fetal monitoring system is used: Fetal Link
    • General surgeon: Locums coverage - usually 24/7 coverage
    • 24/7 anesthesia coverage, CRNA in-house dedicated to OB
    • MFM resource: Tele
    • Circumcisions is not a required service
