Position Summary
The Mental Health Reviewing Consultant is responsible for performing the psychiatric and mental health consultations and submitting the written recommendations. The Mental Health Reviewing Consultant will review and form an opinion of the actual examination findings of the mental health examinations and consultations performed by physicians and/or healthcare practitioners
Core Responsibilities
The Mental Health Reviewing Consultant shall review all documentation for adequacy, consistency, and credibility from the Psych Independent Medical Examination (IME). Any discrepancies or other aberrant issues shall be communicated between the IME provider and the Mental Health Reviewing Consultant to establish a unified opinion.
The Mental Health Reviewing Consultant shall review all psych IME reports. All Reviewing Consultants shall review examination finding reports.
Responsible for performing the psychiatric and mental health consultations and submitting the written recommendations.
Review and study all documents and provide a written recommendation via secured electronic transmission.
Ensure that the examining psychiatric physician addressed all questions posed in the Medical Services Request in the report to the Agency.
Review employees' pre-employment and annual health reports.
Determine whether the employee is "Fit" or "Not Fit" to perform the essential functions of the specific position identified.
Job Location:
As this position will be located at a federal government site, candidate must be residing in the greater Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. Remote work for this position is not available.
Travel:
No international travel is required. Limited domestic travel as required (less than 10% travel).

Qualifications
Current, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory or commonwealth of the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
Shall have obtained and maintained certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience demonstrating knowledge of forensic law enforcement hiring/screening experience and knowledge of the Office of Personnel Management's policies about Federal hiring.
Experience in reviewing Fitness For Duty Evaluations (FFDE) cases for psychological and psychiatric illness of law enforcement is preferred.
Education, training, and experience in the diagnostic evaluation of mental and emotional disorders.
Familiar with the essential job functions of the employee being evaluated and the literature pertinent to FFDEs, especially that which is related to police and public safety psychology.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Excellent computer skills
Ability to manage, both up and down
Customer first mindset with energetic, optimistic, positive, and collaborative problem-solving demeanor and demonstrated sense of ownership/accountability
Advanced ability to understand and interpret USMS medical examination regulations/guidelines
Advanced ability to understand USMS guidelines for MROs and applicable USMS agency regulations
Clearance Requirement: Public Trust/High Risk
As this position is categorized as Public Trust / High Risk position, candidates will be subject to appropriate Background Investigation.
This job is CONTINGENT upon contract award, client approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / High Risk clearance.
