Hiring NOW for Part-time or PRN Hybrid position.

Must be licensed in Maryland, District of Columbia or Virginia.
Must be Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
Credentialed by commercial insurance payers is a plus.

The Dietitian will provide primarily remote and periodic in-home) clinical nutrition services to residents and ensure resident satisfaction, proper diet maintenance, quality care, regulatory compliance, and good public relations.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides clinical nutrition services including nutrition assessment, modified diet formulation, self-management training and nutrition intervention for seniors in their home
  • Assesses the nutritional status of the senior and completes documentation in the medical record
  • Counsel patients on nutrition issues and healthy eating habits
  • Provide customized information for specific individuals
  • Develop clinical meal plans, providing an array of meal options to improve chronic diseases considering both cost and clients’ preferences into account
  • Evaluate the effects of meal plans and change the plans as needed
  • Promote better nutrition by speaking to groups about diet, nutrition, and the relationship between good eating habits and preventing or managing specific diseases
  • Keep up with the latest nutritional science research
  • Involved in the integration of all food & nutrition and wellness innovations
  • Orients, mentors, and trains staff and interns, as applicable
  • Complies with all regulatory standards, including federal, state and accrediting agencies and adheres to community confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and resident rights policies
  • Participates in community-wide and department Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) Programs
  • Participates in and attends departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs
  • Complies with all policies and procedures of the organization
  • Write reports to document patient progress
  • Perform physical and kitchen assessments
  • Develop reports for multidisciplinary team
  • Participate in bi-weekly/monthly meetings
  • Educate the public on food and nutrition issues and topics

Qualifications:
  • Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) - required
  • Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing Board in states where applicable -required
  • One year of senior living experience- preferred
  • Experience with computers and programs including Microsoft Office Suite- required
