Millwright- Mechanic

- Installation:
- Assemble and install new machinery and equipment, following blueprints and engineering specifications.
- Align and level machinery components to ensure proper operation.
- Connect machinery to power sources, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic controls.
- Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, identifying the root cause of breakdowns.
- Repair and replace worn or damaged components, using welding, machining, and other techniques.
- Lubricate and maintain moving parts to prevent wear and ensure smooth operation.
- Overhaul:
- Disassemble and reassemble complex machinery for major repairs or upgrades.
- Clean and inspect components for wear and damage.
- Replace worn or damaged parts with new or refurbished components.
- Reassemble machinery, aligning and adjusting components to ensure proper operation.
- Blueprint Reading:
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to understand installation and repair procedures.
- Use measuring tools and precision instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Safety:
- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working with machinery.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures to ensure equipment is safely isolated during maintenance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Experience with a variety of hand and power tools, including welding equipment and machining tools.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently.
- Valid driver's license.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred):
- Apprenticeship or vocational training in millwright mechanics.
- Journeyman's certification.
- Experience with specific types of industrial machinery (e.g., conveyors, pumps, turbines).
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and computer-aided design (CAD) software.
