Treatment is permissible if failure to provide it would result in morbidity and/or mortality. The appeal for such treatment must be recognized as medically necessary. When prior authorization is granted, the Medical Standards of Care shall be used as a reference.
- Clinical Reviews: Upon request from the Institution/Facility's CEO/CME or designee, Physicians will conduct clinical reviews to assess the quality of clinical care provided.
