Commonpoint Queens is looking to hire a Dishwasher/Prep. Under the supervision of the Director of Culinary and Sous chefs, this individual will assist in daily meal production. In addition, this individual will work with culinary training classes for our Opportunity Youth and Adult Workforce programs. This position is primarily Monday to Friday 1 pm to 5 pm with flexibility depending on facility needs. 
Duties and Responsibilities Include:GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prep work and kitchen assistance.
  • Taking garbage and trash to the dumpster area.
  • Washing work areas, refrigerators, cooking equipment, walls, and floors.
  • Assembling, maintaining, and breaking down the dish machine.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment, and dishes.
  • Handle and store ingredients and food.
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Execute opening and closing procedures.
  • Assist with ongoing projects as requested.
  • Provide superior customer service to every learner, colleague, and employer partner.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Must speak English
  • 1 year of restaurant experience in a similar.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience in kosher laws.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
