Summary of the Job:
Hallmark University’s School of Nursing (HUSON) is currently looking for experienced nursing faculty member to create, develop and direct the student success program. As the Director of the Student Success Program, you are the provider of resources to help ensure the ability of students to succeed in nursing school and obtain respective licensure. You are a vital liaison between faculty, students, and administration as you promote student achievement of HUSON outcomes and course outcomes. In your role, you will foster a culture of caring and promote a positive and successful learning experience for all nursing students consistent with the mission of Hallmark and the School of Nursing.
Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with chairs of HUSON committees to assess aggregate and disaggregate academic and standardized test results of students. Recommend strategies to improve course and program outcomes.
- Collaborate with course, clinical faculty and Associate Dean to identify at-risk students.
- Serve as an active member of the HUSON leadership team.
- Coach students in time management, study skills, and test taking strategies for all assessments - clinical, lab, didactic, ATI, and NCLEX.
- Meet one-on-one with students on a regular basis to develop corrective action plans, monitor their progress and use of success strategies.
- Collaborate and/or make referrals to Academic Advisors and Student Services as indicated.
- Develop and present success strategies to students and groups within HUSON and Hallmark.
- Collect and assess student outcome data and develop strategies for continual improvement.
- Develop, monitor, analyze, and report student success findings to HUSON committees.
- Gather, interpret, and disseminate data to guide faculty decision making regarding teaching, curricular planning, resource allocation, and quality programming.
- Support academics through guest lecturing, co-teaching, and/or lab or on-site clinical instruction.
- Develop and support the student tutoring program through the Student Nurses Association.
- Collaborate with faculty of/co-teach Capstone courses in both VN and BSN programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Unencumbered Nursing License in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of an MSN degree in nursing or a Doctorate in Nursing or Education.
- A minimum of four years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
- A minimum of 3 years higher nursing education teaching experience.
- Experience in assessment of student learning outcomes and remediation strategies.
- Experience with ATI preferred.
