Requirements: 

• Paraprofessional Certification
• Minimum 1 year experience working in a school setting

 
Responsibilities:

•  Assist licensed staff in the classroom.
•  Support students in school under the supervision of a teacher.
•  Aid students in meeting their individualized education plan (IEP).
•  Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
•  Assist the teacher in preparing materials and equipment for direct instructional activity.
•  Locate, collate, distribute and/or group materials to support instructional activities planned by the teacher.
•  Work with individuals and/or small groups when activities and assignments are presented.
•  Provide extra assistance to students with exceptionalities.
•  Provide positive enforcement to maximize student’s ability to learn, and reduce disruptive or inappropriate behavior.
•  Maintain a cooperative working relationship with supervising teacher, students, parents, staff and public.
•  Other duties as assigned.
