Job Title: Automotive Service Advisor

Job Summary:
As an Automotive Service Advisor, you will be the primary point of contact between our automotive service department and customers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by accurately assessing their vehicle needs, providing recommendations for necessary services or repairs, and coordinating with our service technicians to deliver exceptional service. Your excellent communication skills and automotive knowledge will be essential in building strong customer relationships and maximizing service department efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:
  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle symptoms or issues.
  • Explain service recommendations to customers in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Address customer questions or concerns regarding service procedures, pricing, and timelines.
Vehicle Assessment:
  • Perform initial vehicle inspections to identify necessary services or repairs.
  • Consult with customers to gather additional information about vehicle performance or issues.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and service history records to accurately assess vehicle needs.
  • Provide transparent and detailed explanations of recommended services, including cost estimates and timelines.
Service Coordination:
  • Schedule service appointments based on customer availability and service department capacity.
  • Coordinate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of vehicle repairs or maintenance.
  • Communicate updates to customers regarding the status of their vehicles and any additional services required.
  • Prioritize service requests based on urgency and customer preferences.
Administrative Tasks:
  • Prepare accurate service orders and invoices for completed services.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service histories, and vehicle maintenance schedules.
  • Process payments for services rendered and handle any billing inquiries or discrepancies.
  • Assist with inventory management by ordering necessary parts or supplies as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in automotive service or repair is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications for scheduling and record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding customer service and maintaining a positive customer experience.
Education and Certification:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional certification or training in automotive service advisory roles is a plus.

Working Conditions:
The position of Automotive Service Advisor typically involves working in an automotive service department or dealership setting. This may include exposure to vehicle fumes, noise, and various weather conditions. The role may require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of heavy objects. Additionally, flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary to accommodate customer appointments and service department operations.
