Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Marine Draftsperson to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for marine vessels and structures. You will work closely with senior engineers and designers to translate conceptual designs into accurate and precise drawings that meet industry standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting and Design:
• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for marine vessels, including hull designs, structural components, piping systems, and electrical layouts.
• Assist in the development and modification of design plans based on project specifications and engineering feedback.
• Ensure that all drawings are accurate, comprehensive, and conform to industry standards.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with senior engineers, designers, and project managers to understand project requirements and design intent.
• Collaborate with the production and manufacturing teams to ensure that designs are feasible and align with construction capabilities.

Documentation: 

• Maintain and update design documentation, including technical drawings, schematics, and revision logs.
• Assist in the preparation of technical reports, manuals, and other project documentation as needed.

 Quality Control: 

• Review and verify the accuracy of drawings and designs, ensuring consistency and compliance with project standards.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into revised drawings.

Learning and Development:

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, software, and best practices in marine drafting and design.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance drafting skills and technical knowledge.

Qualifications:Education: Diploma or Associate Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Drafting, or a related field.

Experience: 0-2 years of experience in marine drafting or a similar role. Internship or co-op experience in a marine design environment is a plus.

Technical Skills: 

• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Rhino, or similar) for 2D and 3D drafting.
• Basic understanding of marine engineering principles and ship design.
• Familiarity with drafting standards and practices in the marine industry.

Soft Skills: 

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

 Additional Qualifications: 

• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, techniques, and technologies.
• Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements and classification society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV) is an advantage.
