Lawman Heating and Cooling, Inc. is looking for someone to join our team as a Pipefitter Journeyman.  Essential duties include but are not limited to:

• Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Complying with service standards, work instructions, and customers’ requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Cleaning, Adjusting and repairing systems.
• Labeling and identification of pipes, valves, and equipment.
• Assist in staging materials and necessary tools to execute work activity.
• Perform all aspects of corrective and preventative work orders.
• Fitting or assisting in fitting valves, couplings, or assemblies to tanks, pumps, or systems, using hand tools.
• Maintain all tools, work area, and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Perform threading of carbon steel pipe as well as soldering/brazing of copper pipe.
• Perform the pipe grooving of mechanical pipe and use machinal fittings.

Competencies: 

• Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
• Numeracy skills.
• Tool operation knowledge.
• Personal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Working knowledge of boiler systems.
• Read/interpret submittals and shop drawing.

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

•  This position does not have any supervisory responsibility. 

Work Environment: 

•   This position operates from various job site locations. 

     Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of standing on hard surfaces.
• Routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
• Overhead work from ladders, lifting equipment, and scaffolds.
• Extended periods of time exposed to the elements.
• Ability to bend, climb, pull, push, balance, kneel, twist, and climb stairs and ladders.

 Position Type/ Hours:The hours for this position vary from job to job with typical working hours of 7-3:30, M-F Travel Requirements: 

• Must have a valid driver's license, and may be required to drive company vehicles.

Required Education and Experience: 

• High school diploma or GED 
• OSHA 10 
• Closely related responsibilities OR any combination of education and/or recent relevant experience to perform the job duties of this position.

 Additional Qualifications: 

• Experience piping with cooling towers, chillers, boilers, and large rooftop equipment.
• Experience with hydronic and/or refrigeration piping processes.
