Are you a skilled and dedicated professional with experience handling K9s for specialized tasks such as narcotic detection, explosive ordnance detection, and search and rescue missions? Apex Global Security, a leading provider of comprehensive security solutions, is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as K9 Handlers.

Position: K9 Handler

Responsibilities:
  • Deploy K9s to search for narcotics, explosives, or other contraband at locations including airports, border crossings, and public events.
  • Ensure public safety by identifying illegal substances and chemicals.
  • Work alongside law enforcement to detect explosives and hazardous materials in high-risk environments.
  • Conduct searches to prevent potential threats.
  • Assist in locating missing persons, buried bodies, or submerged human remains.
  • Utilize K9s to track and rescue individuals in distress.
Training and Care:
  • Train K9s in obedience, scent detection, and specialized tasks.
  • Maintain the physical and mental well-being of K9s under your care.

Requirements:
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Successful completion of drug testing.
  • Clean criminal record with no felony convictions.
  • Possess a current AZ DPS-issued unarmed or armed guard card.
  • Certification in K9 handling for narcotic detection, explosive ordnance detection, or search and rescue missions preferred.
  • Proficiency in handling and maintaining K9 partners.
  • Effective communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical duties for extended periods.
  • Own a functional smartphone and capability to produce reports in MS Word format.
  • Dependable transportation (no Uber or family transportation).
  • Team-oriented mindset with availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and potential travel.
