Veterinary Assistant

Dill Animal Hospital in Milton/Edgewood, a small suburb outside of Tacoma, Washington, is searching for a Full Time Veterinary Assistant- experience preferred.
We are a growing, privately owned, two-doctor, small animal facility that strives to provide the best surgical and medical care possible in a friendly environment for our patients, their people, and ourselves.
Our clinic is well-equipped with digital dental and full-body digital radiography, ultrasonography, iM3 dental equipment, and EMR records. Our practice also includes some rational integrative medicine, such as acupuncture. Our staff is motivated, positive, and engaged in continuing skills development.
Responsibilities:

• Veterinary Assistants are an integral part of our team, providing support for veterinarians and technicians.
• Veterinary Assistants take care of animals by providing food and water and administering some treatments.
• Recording their health information, and performing lab work.
• Cleaning equipment, handling animals, giving medication, monitoring hospitalized patients, and client communication.
• Weighing animals, stocking, and cleaning the hospital.
• With advanced training, Assistants can draw blood, place IV catheters, give some injections (including vaccinations),  radiography, apply simple bandages, remove sutures, clean ears, and implant microchips.

Our hours are Monday: 8:30a to 8:00p, Tuesday -Friday 8:30a to 5:30p. We are closed on weekends. Shifts are 8 hours with a 1 hours lunch.
